Azerbaijani state oil fund may revise investment in Russia, Turkey
BAKU, Aug 14 (PRIME) -- The State Oil Fund of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) is analyzing whether it needs to change its investment portfolio due to geopolitical risks around Russia and Turkey, the fund said in a statement on Tuesday.
“Investment in the Turkish sovereign bonds accounted for about 0.9% of SOFAZ’ investment portfolio as of the end of the second quarter, and investment in Russian assets (shares of VTB Bank, in an office and in a mall in Moscow) were at the same level, which corresponds to the current market conditions, current investment strategy of SOFAZ, and corresponding mid-term and long-term real expectations of yields,” the fund said.
“At the same time, we are seriously analyzing the current condition of the investment portfolio, the market conditions, and expectations taking into account the geopolitical risks that we have seen in these countries lately, so that we are able to take fast tactical steps in changing the investment portfolio in case of necessity.”
